Beautiful watercolor folk portrait on natural wafer of a very young child with huge blue eyes, rosy cheeks & lips with strawberry blond hair. The toddler wears a white dress with blue sash. The frame is very sweet and unusual with the corner rosettes. The painting has no visual defects but there is a slight warp to the ivory. The papier mâché frame is likely original and measures 5 1/8" x 4 3/8" with a sight size of 2 7/8” x 2 1/4”. Circa 1810.
