Sweet cut & paste silhouette of a child standing in a sepia watercolor landscape and holding a small bouquet of painted flowers. Although both genders of this young age wore the same style clothing, this is likely a young girl because boys were seldom depicted holding flowers. She wears a calf-length dress with short puffed sleeves. She also wears a short beaded necklace and a bracelet. Her slippers have ankle straps. The gold embellishment adds a wonderful touch to the subject. She resides in a period rosewood veneer frame that measures 6 3/8” x 5”. Very good condition. Circa 1830.
