We like theorems on paper because they hold their color so well. This floral still life has a glorious vibrant orange and yellow basket that really sets the tone of the artwork. It has a beautiful arrangement of flowers including roses, carnations and others I can’t identify. Housed in a period veneer wood frame with a canted profile that has a ledge around the outside edge. There is some missing veneer and it is a little gappy in one corner but stable. The paper has uneven toning and fading to carnations in the upper left of the arrangement. Framed size is 19" x 16 3/4", sight 15 1/4" x 12 3/4". American School, circa 1830.
