The star of this item is its heart-shaped seashell frame, made as a token of friendship and love. The hefty (for its size) frame is adorned with more than 500 tiny shells and it houses a small daguerreotype frame featuring a miniature mourning textile. The printed textile features a woman seated at a monument. Finally, a faded copper colored bow puts a ribbon on this wonderfully executed token of friendship and love. It would make an impressive Valentine for that special person. Measures 7” tall x 7 ¼“ wide. Circa late 19th or early 20th century.
