18th century covered sugar bowls with interesting figural handles of a man with a hat.  The top of the bowl is stepped with beading across the top step and an acorn finial.  The base has two steps.  6" tall.  The top is 3 3/4" in diameter.  The full width, including the handles is about 4 3/4".  The base is 2 5/8" in diameter.  The bottom is touched with a crown over "X", each component struck separately.  The sugar bowl has a medium light grey patinan with some light staning on the body of the bowl.  The lid is just a little wonky so that it doesn't fit tightly.  It hasn't been polished in decades, but there is a bit of paste from polish caught within the figures.  Continental, likely French or Flemish.  Circa 1760.
