When you see this pantry box, you’ll just say “Wow!” It is a beautiful teal colored paint with wonderful wear and patina. But, the capstone is the carved wood diamond-shaped finial dead center of the lid. Now, this isn’t a finial as you think of one. It isn’t a handle, you can’t even grasp it. It is a carved piece of wood, with a smooth dome-shaped finish and a patina to die for! I’ve never seen this type of decoration on a pantry box before! Tacked construction. Excellent condition with paint wear. 9 ½” diameter x 4 ¾” tall. 19th century.
